Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


The Faculty Member is expected to understand and embrace the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Acsenda School of Management (ASM) while abiding by its policies and by treating students and fellow members of the learning community with a high level of professionalism.

The Faculty Member is expected to present and facilitate high quality and student-focused instruction complying with the standards and key roles and responsibilities


Instructional Duties:


  • Teach a parttime course load (13 courses per term) as assigned by the Director, BHM according to the standards and key roles and responsibilities set
  • Review, develop, evaluate and recommend standardized syllabi, course outlines, textbooks and other instructional materials for adoption in the curricula in field of specialization.
  • Manage the classroom effectively including establishing a weekly office hours session per course for student support.
  • Accomplish the course learning objectives; incorporate program learning outcomes into course learning objectives and assessment.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Document students' attendance, participation, and academic progress by giving and grading assignments, projects, quizzes and/or examinations that lead to a final grade.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on students' work.
  • Submit course grades to the Registrar by the assigned date.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Communicate criteria and grading rubrics used to evaluate student work.
  • Establish and communicate availability to meet with students outside of regular class hours.
  • Evaluate student performance according to established criteria approved by ASM.
  • Use the approved course outline and adopted textbook for the course.
  • Update course materials in consultation and with the approval of the Assistant Director, BBA(HR).
  • Meet with the Director, BHM as needed to discuss issues related to teaching performance, student issues, or recommendations for improvements in curriculum or instructional resources. Address areas for improvement as identified by the Director, BHM.
  • Comply with copyright laws and policies.
  • Ensure review of student work for academic integrity and follow policies for addressing academic dishonesty as outlined in the ASM Academic Calendar.
  • Maintain a record of all assignments, projects, exams and other course deliverables at the designated area in the Faculty Room.

Administrative Duties

  • Ensure that the required instructional hours as indicated in quarterly Job Offer/Contract for each class are fully met.
  • Advise the Director, BHM at least 24 hours in advance, if possible, when unable to attend or need to reschedule a class.
  • Advise the Campus Administrator at least 24 hours in advance and provide details on how class will be handled (substitute faculty, class activities while waiting for the instructor or cancellation of classes with plans to make up for it)
  • Adhere to ASM's requirements, schedules and timetables for turning in attendance and grade reports.
  • Abide by the facilities rules and regulations governing classroom use, use of photocopiers, and other school equipment

Research, Scholarship, Continuous Professional Development

  • Maintain uptodate knowledge and pedagogy related to the disciplines taught.
  • Attend Faculty Orientation, faculty meeting, faculty cafes and faculty training and workshops as scheduled
  • All faculty members are encouraged to meet with teaching and other professional colleagues to discuss disciplinespecific and instructional methods, knowledge, and skills.

Student Welfare and Support

  • Support student retention initiatives
  • Resolve student appeals and complaints; takes disciplinary action related to academic or student misconduct in accordance to established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and disseminate current information pertaining to services available to students throughout the school including academic policies, standards and processes.
