We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the General Manager.The General Manager will play a pivotal role in assisting in all aspects of the hockey operations, including player recruitment, team management, and organizational development.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader with a passion for hockey to make a significant impact on the success and growth of our players and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Lead player recruitment efforts, including scouting, drafting, and player evaluation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with players, coaches, staff, and stakeholders.
- Manage team operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and travel logistics.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to develop and implement training programs and player development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with league regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Represent the organization at events, and community outreach programs.
- Oversee marketing and promotional activities to enhance the visibility and brand awareness of the team.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field would be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hockey management or related field, preferably at a Junior level of hockey.
- Strong knowledge of hockey operations, including player scouting, recruitment, and development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of players and staff.
- Demonstrated organizational and problemsolving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and hockey management software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
