The Opportunity


Reporting to the Senior Director - Talent, Culture & Leadership, jump onboard and join our growing Talent team to lead, explore and support strategic human resources objectives in Toronto.


As the Human Resources Manager, you will focus on leading and delivering authentic service and excellence in human resources to support our fast growth and ambitious business goals.

You will drive the achievement of strategic objectives through a people perspective, serving as an advocate, catalyst and champion of our HR global approach.


In addition to your proven experience in HR leadership and support, you are a strong communicator, well versed in worksite and labour HR support and have established experience working in both a unionized and nonunionized environment.


You embrace change and are known for your ability to influence others as well as lead and build innovative teams.

As Toronto's human resources leader, you will be a key partner to senior leaders and accountable to manage a team of resourceful and adaptable HR professionals.


What YOU Will Do

  • Lead and be accountable for the entire Toronto HR function, including workforce planning, recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, worksite and labour relations, talent management and development;
  • Partner with leadership to support the execution of Toronto's strategic plan through its rapid growth and various HR priorities;
  • Oversee and provide guidance to our local HR team consisting of but not limited to a team of professionals in charge of recruitment, general HR services, training and workforce planning on the execution and implementation of HR programs and processes;
  • Assist with and be accountable for the development and execution of local recruitment workforce planning. In conjunction with Toronto's Talent Acquisition Specialist and Business Partner, you will actively participate in the full cycle recruitment for select or senior level managerial roles;
  • Lead and provide support as required for compensation decisions and support for employees, including worksite staff;
  • Effectively handle highly sensitive and confidential employee/worksite labor relations issues arising within the company including workplace investigations, grievances, discipline, performance matters and general employee relations;
  • Collaborate and partner with the Talent, Culture and Leadership Centre of Excellence team in the execution and management of a variety of projects and programs in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Organizational Development and Training & Development;
  • Be a champion and role model of Health & Safety in the Toronto region;
  • Oversee and facilitate the implementation of HR policies, programs & processes, and the creation of communication timelines, messaging and assets for employeefacing projects;
  • Take part and provide insight into the development, implementation and rollout of Organizational Development initiatives and special projects;
  • Have a strong understanding of the Labour Relations process across the Toronto region and collaborate with our Labour Relations team to provide support to local leadership as required;
  • Be a key contributor to continue building the local Toronto office culture and take part in local office social activities

Possédez-vous ces qualifications et habiletés?

  • A postsecondary degree and/or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial or labour relations or any other related discipline, combined with 10+ years of progressive HR management experience and business partnering experience;
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Industrial Relations Counsellor (CIRC) is preferred;
Strong communication skills;

  • Proficient in all areas of Canadian employment laws;
  • Demonstrated ability to collaboratively partner with multiple leaders, providing effective guidance and challenge where appropriate;
  • Proven experience leading a multifaceted HR team and driving peoplebased initiatives for a large territory and proven track record of fullcycle recruitment success;
  • Excellent organizational skills and can handle complex deliverab
