Hours per week: 40 - This is a shift worker position. Shifts may be assigned 8,10, or 12 hours in duration. Day, Afternoon and/or night shifts including rotating shifts. Weekend work and overtime may be required.

Accountabilities:
How you will make an impact


  • Implement, and ensure compliance with, the Kinectrics RP Program at Kinectrics' Ontario Nuclear Services Facility,
  • Outline, assign and supervise the complex work of intermediate & senior engineers, scientists or other technical staff,
  • Provide technical leadership to the project and/or project team leadership supporting key program areas,
  • Propose, pursue, execute and lead work acquired, including advanced and complex technical investigations in one or more designated specialties,
  • Plan, develop, write and present major proposals,
  • Lead, mentor, coach and train less experienced staff,
  • Perform radiological, environmental and chemistry assessments for nuclear or other hazardous facilities,
  • Perform radiation shielding analysis,
  • Prepare technical reports suitable for submission to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and support the client in addressing questions from the CNSC,
  • Represent Kinectrics on external technical committees, panels, task groups and standardmaking bodies, etc.,

What you need to succeed:


  • Knowledge of CANDU technology and specific experience in a CANDU station environment are significant assets,
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Health Physics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent,
  • Experience using computer codes and models such as: MCNP, RFSP, TUF, CATHENA, and Microshield is an asset,
  • An understanding of and experience with the Canadian nuclear regulatory framework and licensing process,
  • A thorough current understanding of the principles, theories, and practices in the field of radiation safety,
  • Must be able to work in a project driven environment with the capability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and within project constraints (time, cost, quality),
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize assigned work and to coordinate multiple activities efficiently,
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and to quality assurance requirements,
  • Must be motivated by working with engineering professionals committed to producing timely and highquality technical work,
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in health physics including at least 3 three years in applied health physics is required to gain the above experience
  • Ability to successful obtain and maintain Nuclear Site Security Clearance
