We currently seeking a

Full Time Human Resources Specialist to join our Total Rewards team. As a developing HR professional, you will be the liaison between the hospital, our employees and our benefits and pension provider. You will be accountable for managing the employee life cycle and provide support for all benefits, pensions and compensation inquiries and escalations. You will also have the exciting opportunity to take part in People Services initatives and projects as it relates to Total Rewards, including Long Service Awards, assist in strategy implmentation, systems and process enhancement and data quality audits.

Hours of work:
Monday

  • Friday, flexibility required, on site

What will you be doing?

  • Provide advice and guidance to staff as it relates to benefits and pension, leave of absences and retirement
  • Review and assess claims for pervious experience and adjust employee salary as appropirate
  • Support projects and initatives

Qualifications:


  • College diploma in Human Resources
  • Minimum two years Human Resources support experience required, healthcare/unionized experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail to deal effectively with staff and the general public in a variety of situations
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to be flexible and work within tight time constraints in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a team setting with mínimal supervision.
  • Support project tasks and prepare related documentation for Manager approval
  • Recommend process improvements, new HR system changes, and test changes prior to implementation with Manager approval
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation including Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and Ontario Labour Relations Act (OLRA)
  • Strong awareness of Freedom of Information and Personal Privacy Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act
  • Operational policies and processes, including those specific to HR
