Working under the supervision of the Foreman, the Jetter will assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatuses to support the Expercom Civil Team.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints or job specifications to execute all work assigned safely and in accordance to the Company's health and safety policy;
Work outdoors in various conditions to place copper or fibre optic telecommunication cables;
Clean and maintain tools and equipment;
Accurately record and report project progress to the appropriate supervisory person and communicate any issues or expected delays;
Work with underground cable placing equipment (Jetting equipment);
Understand handling principles of fibre optic cable and micro fibre cable;
Trouble shoot networking and design plans and identify roadblocks prior to installation;
Ability to track and manage materials related to work function;
Performs other duties as required;

Qualifications:

6 months of previous experience in a cable jetting role preferred
Experience working with Jetting equipment an asset
Electrical Techniques or Electrical Technician schooling is an asset
Must have a valid "G" Driver's License or equivalent and a good driver's abstract
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to and exceeding 30 feet
Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team
Basic knowledge of fibre optic cable prepping and splicing an asset
