Working for the Department/Faculty


The Physician Learning Program (PLP) is housed in the Office of Lifelong Learning, and supports the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry's (FoMD) mission to enhance the knowledge and skills of community practitioners in quality improvement initiatives.

PLP creates actionable clinical information and engages with physicians, teams, patients, and partners to co-create sustainable solutions to advance practice.

We are looking for a Project Coordinator who wants to help improve healthcare within Alberta.


Position

Duties

  • Plans and coordinates all datarelated elements of projects, including liaising with AHS data analysts, planning methodology, data extraction, and planning/directing or carrying out data analysis
  • Prepares consent forms, ethics submissions, renewals and amendments; conducts brief literature reviews
  • Organizes and facilitates project meetings, including with external project team members and stakeholders.
  • Participates in datarelated activities including mapping, collection, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and interpretation
  • Carries out quantitative data analysis (descriptive and statistical analysis), and provides statistical interpretation of results consulting with the Senior Project Officer or other biostatisticians as required; physicians and/or clinicians are responsible for clinical interpretation and implications.
  • Contributes to interim and final reports, or provides supporting information for such reports, for funding agencies, community partners, and other relevant stakeholders; contributes to manuscript writing

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in health sciencesrelated field required; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered, including Master's degree in science or social science field with experience with quantitative data analysis;
  • Graduatelevel courses (or equivalent) in quantitative analysis, statistics, or biostatistics are required.
  • Strong skills and experience in quantitative data analysis (i.e. SPSS, SAS, or Stata) required;
  • Demonstrated skills in data visualization, interpretation, presentation, and reporting (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau)
  • 3 years of technical experience in related disciplines;
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of R and/or Python strongly preferred.
  • Experience with health economics or econometrics is an asset
  • Experience with developing knowledge transfer activities and project management is an asset
  • Knowledge of the health care industry and terminology is an asset
