Position Description:
SickKids is hiring one full-time
Echo Sonographer II at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Ave., Toronto, ON
. As an Echo Sonographer you will obtain high quality ultrasound images of the heart and related structures.
Here's What You'll Get To Do:
- Perform technical, analytical and educational functions for the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease
- Act as a resource to other staff, fellows and visiting personnel
- Act as a member of the health care team
- Integrate research into practice and create, utilize and/or disseminate new knowledge
Here's What You'll Need:
- Completion of a three
- to three-year program in a related allied health field
- Oneyear postdiploma program in diagnostic medical sonography from an accredited institution are required
- Must be eligible for Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario
American Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certification:
- Previous echocardiography experience preferably in a paediatric environment
- Training in Paediatric or Adult Echocardiography is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and paediatric surgical procedures
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills
- Demonstrated ability to for critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork
- Strong customer service focus
- Attention to detail and efficient time management skills
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
- Basic proficiency with computers
Employment Type Permanent, Full-time; 1.0 FTE. _Includes access to health & dental benefits, pension plan, 3 weeks vacation to start, and paid sick days._
Location: 555 University Avenue, Toronto ON
Salary:
Commensurate with experience (range is from $34.89 to $52.34 per hour)
