The Tactical Buyer will be responsible for the effective and timely execution of purchasing activities for an assigned group of commodities and/or services.

This function shall strive to provide the support required by the organization related to Supply Chain activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Becomes knowledgeable of assigned specific group of goods including the use of the ERP in support to transition to a new system.
  • Reviews all received requisitions of required goods and/or services for completeness: including but not limited to part number, description, quantities, delivery dates, special terms and/or conditions, appropriate approvals and the designated point of receipt.
  • Place orders, and enter into contract for procurement with approved Suppliers as necessary for required materials and/or services. Document justification of purchase decision and obtain procurement approval authority as necessary based upon the size and complexity of the materials and/or services being procured.
  • Monitors open transactions through completion/closing to ensure Supplier meets its contractual obligations. Immediately address any circumstances that may cause a delay or could impact Supplier's capability to meet its obligations so as to avoid or minimize the impact to the maximum extent possible on the company.
  • Work closely with other functional departments to effectively manage the implementation of changes in requires to mitigate the impact to the project and/or company (e.g., cost and schedule)
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and assist in the training and development of Buyer(s) as assigned by Manager.
  • Able to explain different practices, policy deployment, issues, etc. to others within the organization and to external parties (Ability to negotiate and to anticipate any risks).
  • Check and correct problems relative to the Manufacturing Buying (Non Conformity,..) of the concerned perimeter and guarantee the updating and loading of data within the IS tools.
  • Becomes knowledgeable about company purchasing policies/procedures and continually monitors daytoday activities for compliance.
  • Recommends changes as appropriate to management on policies and/or procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.

Key Requirements:

  • Postsecondary education in business, logistics, supply chain, or other related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Supply Chain, PO placement
  • Strong proficiency with SAP and MS Excel
  • Strong communication with external/internal stakeholders and team members
  • Proactive approach to supply chain work.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience
