Purpose:


The Faculty of Health is York University's second largest Faculty, with approximately ten-thousand undergraduate majors and approximately six hundred and fifty graduate students.

The Faculty of Health offers a wide range of undergraduate degree programs and specializations, including Global Health, Health Studies (with specializations in Health Policy, Health Management and Health Informatics), Kinesiology and Health Science, Nursing, and Psychology.

Our undergraduate degree options include the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Health Studies, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Our degree programs are complimented by several certificate options.

At the graduate level, Masters and Doctoral degrees are offered in Critical Disabilities, Health, Kinesiology and Health Science, Nursing, and Psychology.

Kinesiology and Health Science, Nursing and Psychology are regulated health professions under the Regulated Health Professions Act. Accountable for the effective, professional, and responsive provision of client centered services and operations management support.

Works in close partnership with academic and administrative leaders to determine operational priorities, manages the day-to-day activities of the administrative and/or technical staff, and is aligned to the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the University.

The Operations Manager supports York's commitment to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion.


Education:

Post-secondary degree in relevant field.


Experience:

Minimum 4 years of related experience, including 2 years of management/ supervisory experience.


Skills:

Knowledge
Knowledge of operations management.
Knowledge of workforce planning, budgeting and financial management, process improvement and change management.
Ability to provide excellent service to the community and deal courteously and effectively with people at all levels.
Strong problem identification and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to foster an environment of trust, support and accountability while modelling respect for employees.
Ability to develop and/or lead cohesive teams and manage performance and productivity.
Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload and meet timelines.
Adaptability to change, new ideas and practices.

Compensation:


York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.

Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
