Job Description:

We are currently looking for someone to teach a third year course on Cloud Computing

Required Qualifications:

Education: Minimum Master's required in bioinformatics, computer science or a related discipline, topic in bioinformatics preferred.
Teaching Experience: Postsecondary preferred.

Professional Experience: 2 years directly related industry experience preferred within the last 5 years.

Other: Preferred Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as: Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud along with programming languages such as Python, Java. Working knowledge of data related technologies is a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver instructional materials using up to date content and evidence based pedagogical principles.
Teach computer science at all levels within the bioinformatics program, including foundational courses
Ensure effective use of the available class time and maintain appropriate office hours
Maintain collegial working relationships
Be a positive and active contributor to the development and implementation of the Bioinformatics program, the Faculty of Science, and the College.

Length of appointment: 4 months, with one month preparation time. There is a possibility for renewal upon positive evaluation.

Please note that the position workload will be based on the departmental budget and operational needs.
