Where You Come In
We are looking for a
Manager, Development to join our team at Make-A-Wish Canada.

This position is accountable for developing and executing strategies and providing expertise to coordinate fundraising activities for the province/region, with a focus on development of major gifts/campaigns.

This role will include prospect research and development opportunities to increase revenue and meet budgeting goals.

Acting as a representative of Make-A-Wish Canada (MAWC), this position safeguards the interests of the Foundation, donors, and fundraising event participants by following established fundraising policies.

This role can be based out of
Toronto or
Pickering, and is a
full-time, permanent, hybrid position.

What You Will Do

  • Work in collaboration with your direct supervisor to develop and execute shortterm and longterm development goals, ensuring increased revenue yearoveryear focusing on, but not limited to, Major Gifts and fundraising campaigns.
  • Responsible for managing the logistics and execution of our Major Gifts Program in Ontario.
  • Strengthen and expand revenue development opportunities with existing donors through cultivation and implementation of strategies.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify and recruit new Major Gift donors and develop customized stewardship strategies.
  • Collaborate with national and regional staff, as appropriate, in fulfilling the mission, strategy and goals of the Foundation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of all fundraising initiatives.
  • Utilize strong Salesforce knowledge to input and track donor activities, reporting.
  • Utilize strong prospect research skills and programs.
  • Act as an ambassador and spokesperson for the Foundation, specifically when communicating with donors and other stakeholders.
  • Continuously work to increase awareness of MAWC through all contacts and business interactions through relationships, marketing, and promotion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Staff Management Accountabilities

  • Recruit, engage and retain qualified employees to meet business priorities.
  • Provide support and direction in the development, alignment and accomplishment of objectives through ongoing performance feedback, recognition and coaching.
  • Provides a safe and healthy work environment for team members and relevant stakeholders.

Financial Accountabilities

  • Monitor department adherence to financial policies and controls. Determine expense projections as part of the budgeting and forecasting process for first party events.
  • Authorize expenditures within approved guidelines and monitor expenditures against budget.
