We are currently seeking a registered
Mental Health Clinician team in our
Urgent Short-Term Assessment and Treatment (USTAT) Counselling Program.

Location: 6672 Wadams Way, Sooke BC

Shift

Schedule:
4 days per week (1 evening shift required)

Hours: 28 hours per week


Union:
This position requires union membership

Note:
Only Registered Clinical Counsellors will be considered.


Job Summary:


The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing mental health clinical assessment and treatment services to the public requiring mental health services and brief psychotherapy.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain client caseload based on referrals from the community.
  • Complete intake and clinical assessment of all clients in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic plans for each client.
  • Provide short-term individual treatment interventions as per the therapeutic plans
for each client.


  • Maintain effective relationships with Government bodies and community partners
as they pertain to the program.


  • Maintain statistical data on clients as required by the program manager.
  • Attend team meetings, training days and the SFRS Annual General Meeting.
  • Maintain knowledge of available programs, their interrelationships, and their
function in delivering care in the community to persons with mental illness,

addictions and/or concurrent disorders.


  • Maintain knowledge of psychiatric disorders and relevant legislative acts
(I.e., The Mental Health Act).


  • Perform other related duties as required.

Education & Experience:

Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or in an associated discipline.


Skills:


Two (2) years minimum experience related to adult and youth clinical mental health services, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract


Pay:
$43.03-$52.68 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
