About the position:


Responsibilities:


  • Be the central point of expertise for Laser Welding Applications at our Canadian office.
  • Develop and recreate welding process parameters to acquire highquality weld measurement data from IPG Canada's proprietary LDD monitoring technology.
  • Create and distribute quarterly reports on Application and present to management on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide oversight, supervision, maintenance, troubleshooting and management of all associated lab laser welding components and activities.
  • Procure necessary equipment and materials and make recommendations to upgrade and replace equipment as needed.
  • Create Applications reports for distribution to clients and internal/external stakeholders.

Requirements:


  • You're a laser welding expert and have an advanced understanding of optics.
  • You have experience with automation and robotics and are capable of setting up wiring and switching infrastructure.

  • You love to build and create new things and solve technical problems along the way.
  • You understand PLC and Gcode fundamentals.
  • Collaboration and teamwork come naturally to you and you have demonstrable experience being part of a highperforming team.
  • As a selfstarter you can work under mínimal supervision and have excellent communication and technical report writing skills.

  • You have a postsecondary technical education in engineering/physics or a related field or supplementary work experience.
