Position Title EH Program Manager


Reports to EH Executive Director, Luisa Krause


Supervises EH Advocates


Hours 37.5 hours per week
3-month probationary period 5696 Wellington Rd 7


Term Shifts include - Days / Nights / Weekends Guelph, ON N1H 6J2


The role of EH Program Manager is best suited to some who is committed to supporting an environment that builds respect, dignity, cares deeply, equality and works from an anti-oppressive and anti-racism lens.


POSITION OVERVIEW:
Oversee operating functions of the house. Research, develop and implement established strategies and programs that deliver overall success of residences and staff.


Responsibilities also may include:

Initiating and setting goals for organizational programs and to assist Executive Director to hire, train and be a motivating mentor to staff.


AREA OF DUTIES:

Anticipate and assess the needs and issues for daily programing; provide ongoing support; develop support plans; provide reports & meet regularly with EH Executive Director.

Give support as needed in staff scheduling, recruiting & training.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Introducing and setting goals for programs according to the strategic intentions of the organization
  • Planning programs from start to completion involving deadlines and processes
  • Implement daily programing with EH residents

DETAILED FUNCTIONS:


  • Facilitate intake and discharging of residents
  • Develop support plan for residents; Identify needs; Identify goals
  • Provide support of therapeutic, medical, legal, financial, educational needs for the residents (from case management coordinator job description)
  • Connect with community partners (including but not limited to; counseling, addiction support, identification recovery and academic plans) to facilitate wrap around support of the residents (from CMC job description)
  • Oversee the daily operational functions, overall objectives, policies and criteria: operate the Elora Home with in the guidelines the EH Safe House Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Implements emergency plan for On Call staff when EH Program Manager and EH Executive Director are not available (from CMC job description)
  • Training & coaching staff
  • Develop cooperative action, build staff relationships
  • Identify and communicate concerns with regarding to staff/residents to Executive Director
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the program with regular progress reports to the EH Executive
Director


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Provide trauma informed care in a residential setting
  • Provide one on one support to residents
  • Utilize Crisis intervention and deescalation technics
  • Attend meetings and training as requested
  • Lead programs (fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, etc.)
  • Work from and antioppressive and antiracism lens
  • Good communication skills
  • Conflict Resolution skills
  • Be comfortable in an uncertain environment
  • Leadership Skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • CYW, SSW, BSW, IDEV or behavioral science education is an asset
  • Experience working in women's shelter, in a licensed substance treatment program, trauma informed care program, post traumatic stress program or equivalent combination of training
  • Develop & lead programming and model healthy living ( this has been modified from RA job description)
  • Experience working in a crosscultural setting
  • Emotional Intelligence: selfawareness, selfregulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong conflict management skill, risk assessment & safety planning
  • CPR level C and First Aid Training (current to date)
  • Second language an asset
