ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

  • Reporting directly to the Manager of Corporate Human Resources and based out of Dartmouth Nova Scotia, the Corporate Human Resources (HR) Communications Assistant will work with a dynamic group of HR Professionals, providing administrative and communications support for various Corporateled HR programs and events such as the annual Black & McDonald Leadership Conference and the Corporate Security Program. _
  • The Corporate HR Communications Assistant will use the most effective administrative procedures, and act as a liaison with other HR professionals and stakeholders across the organization. There are opportunities to work from home from time to time as priorities and assignments allow. _

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Corporate HR Communications Support

  • Provide written communications support for the Corporate HR group, drafting and editing relevant internal and external communications related to HR programs, policies, and initiatives for various internal publications; respond to online feedback forums such as Glassdoor and LinkedIn
  • Manage Corporate HR Shared In-Boxes; respond to general inquiries submitted to the Corporate HR Department related to HR policies, programs, and procedures, directing our internal customers to the appropriate resource where necessary.
  • Administer the Corporate HR Department SharePoint intranet, coordinate content and manage publishing
  • Administer Survey Monkey Account and various Corporate HR Surveys
  • Team Channel owner/administrator for all Corporate HR Teams Communication Channels

Corporate Security Program Administrative Support

  • Work in partnership with the Director of Corporate People Resources on the coordination and execution of the B&M Security Program, assisting with resource development, publishing quarterly reporting to CSP group, and tracking of security renewals

Administrative Event Support

  • Work in partnership with the Director of Corporate People Resources on the creation, coordination, and execution of the annual Leadership Conference and National HR Conference
  • Provide administrative support for the onboarding and offboarding of Regional HR Partners, and employees of the Corporate People Resources group, such as systems access requests, benefits registration, and hardware ordering

Other Administrative Support

EDUCATION and SKILL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration, Business, or related program, or suitable combination of experience and education
  • Three plus years of experience in a fast paced office environment
  • Experience working with HR information systems would be considered an asset.
  • Bilingual in English and French would be considered an asset

COMPETANCY REQUIREMENTS:


  • Normal HR activities may require working outside of standard business hours.
  • Normal HR activities may require travel 23 times a year so incumbents must be able to obtain and maintain valid travel documentation at all times.
