Program Coordinators, Jays Care


Program Coordinators on the Jays Care Programs team are responsible for helping to design and deliver a wide range of projects that are all designed to help level the playing field.

Our work enables us to work with and support communities facing a wide range of barriers including, but not limited to:
poverty, food insecurity, inaccessibility, ableism, racism, sexism, and homophobia.

Every project we devote time, funding and energy to has been well-researched, informed by our wide range of advisors, and is designed specifically to break down barriers and fortify strengths for children and youth.

Jays Care is looking for 5
highly motivated, experienced, and passionate Program Coordinators who will focus their energy primarily on one of the following portfolios:

2 Municipalities and Indigenous Baseball Tournament Program Coordinators. These Coordinators will help to pilot test, refine and significantly expand the Jays Care Municipalities program and the Jays Care Indigenous Baseball Tournament. Jays Care Foundation is working with a range of municipalities to make Challenger Baseball and Girls At Bat available in small and large municipalities across the country. Jays Care is also pilot-testing a brand new Indigenous baseball tournament for Indigenous children and youth across the country. These Coordinator roles include, but are not limited to, helping plan and lead trainings for municipality staff, procuring equipment and coach kits for program leaders, collecting and reviewing assessment forms, and helping to build and pilot-test two large-scale Indigenous tournaments.

2 RBI Summer Edition Program Coordinators. These Coordinators will help with the design, delivery and assessment of the RBI Summer Edition Program. RBI Summer Edition is a free summer day camp program that is connected to the TDSB's summer school initiatives. It is designed to give families in priority neighbourhoods access to great, free, and robust summer camp programming that help inspire kids to fulfill their potential. These Coordinator roles include, but are not limited to helping with staff recruitment, program design, staff training, supply procurement, and a variety of administrative tasks.

1 Family Night At Home and Big Events Coordinator. This Coordinator will help with the design and delivery of Family Night At Home to families across the country. Family Night at Home is a Jays Care community initiative that aims to bring the magic of play into the homes of kids in our programs. Families who are selected to be part of Family Night At Home receive a delicious restaurant-cooked family meal and a family games and activity pack once a week for three weeks in a row. They will also be responsible for helping to execute 3-5 large-scale events for key beneficiaries in Jays Care programs.

Take Me Out To the Ballgame Coordinator. This Coordinator will be responsible for helping to ensure that more than 5500 kids in Jays Care programs can experience the magic of a Toronto Blue Jays game at Rogers Centre. The Coordinator will support the management of various in-stadium opportunities including the Jays Care Community Clubhouse and the Commissioner Ticket program.

In addition, this Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the success of a variety of community support initiatives including, but not limited to:
Turn the Page, Winter Hampers, the Alumi Fund, and a variety of corporate volunteer initiatives.
