The Data Governance team at AIMCo is responsible for ensuring consistent, quality data is accessible to the organization in accordance with policies and best practices to enable well informed decision making.

Collaborating with cross functional teams across the Business and Technology is critical to managing our data assets to give users trust and insights to their data.

This growing team is dedicated to shaping the future of data management, where you will take part in implementing cutting-edge data governance practices.


Responsibilities:


  • Become familiar with the data governance operations and BAU activities with focus on supporting data stewardship and data quality management
  • Contribute to implementing data standards and best practices within data processes
  • Support and enhance the enterprise data catalogue.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to manage and resolve data issues
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a quantitative or relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business, Mathematics)
  • Returning to studies Fall 2024 or completing final work experience terms
  • Intellectually curious with keen interest in data and the financial markets
  • Understanding of investments or data management principles is an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Database Technologies (MS SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Brings a mix of analytical skills, business acumen, and a strong desire to support our stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to identify datarelated issues and propose effective solutions
  • Effective communication skills, with ability to facilitate working group sessions is an asset
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo's core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others
Success Measures

Your success in the role will be in your ability to complete all tasks and support various projects assigned.

You will become familiar with the Data Governance functions and technologies that enable delivery of quality data to the organization.

Collaborate with multiple groups across the organization and build meaningful relationships with experienced professionals across AIMCo.
