Events Planning Committee - Dancing with Easter Seals Stars

Reports to:
Windsor-Essex and Sarnia Community Engagement Officer

Work in Collaboration with:
Easter Seals Ontario Regional & Provincial Teams

Commitment:
Ongoing until September hours per week (with exception of event week, which will increase depending on availability)

The Event:

Dancing with Easter Seals Stars will take place on September 22, 2023 at the Waters' Edge Event Centre in Windsor.

This event features an elegant evening of dining and dancing.

The night begins with a cocktail hour and celebrity meet and greet, followed by a delicious dinner with host bar, silent auction, dance demonstrations and musical entertainment.

The main event, a live Dancing with Easter Seals Stars competition featuring local celebrities and professional dancers, is the highlight of the evening.

True to the element of competition, celebrity judges, along with our guests, will assist in determining which dance duo will be the *stars* of the evening.


The Position:

Each Events Planning Committee member will be an integral member of both the regional and provincial Easter Seals teams.

They will meet regularly with other committee members to update, collaborate, and plan the Dancing with Easter Seals Stars event this fall.

They will work collaboratively to move the event forward and delegate tasks amongst each other which they will accomplish in between meetings.

They will report to the Community Engagement Officer and will be tasked to work on the Dancing with Easter Seals Stars event that will contribute to the success of Easter Seals in 2023.


The Role Tasks:

  • Assist with the development of plans that relate to an Easter Seals' Dancing with Easter Seals' Stars (DWESS) event September 22, 202
  • Attend weekly committee meeting events (mix of virtual and in person possible)
  • Contribute to information and meeting notes as it relates to DWESS
  • Delegate tasks and contribute to planning, organizing and implementing DWESS.
  • Work in collaboration with regional team, local offices, partners, sponsors and vendors to develop the DWESS event.
  • Assist with development of support opportunities including offers, database of potential sponsors, celebrity dancers, donors, and attendees, etc.
  • Assist with organization and onsite tasks at the event if available
  • Other tasks as assigned
