Quality Assurance Supervisor


Reports to:
Quality Assurance Manager


Coverage in case of Absence:
In the absence of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, Quality Assurance Coordinator will cover for his/her designated position.


Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor, under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for assuring that CLS Catering Services Ltd.

is delivering a high level of service.

This position is responsible for ensuring compliance of all documentation required for the Global Quality System (GQS) for both airline and non-airline customers.

- _Recognize, support and commit to the Food Safety promise and facility Mission statement_

  • Primarily responsible to ensure that the facility meets HACCP, Health Canada Regulations and customer Food Safety requirements.
  • Maintain high standards in sanitation and food quality to successfully meet customer and third party requirements
- _Coordinate/manage/provide support on various Food Safety and Quality projects and initiatives, as well as day-to-day tasks required by the QA Dept._
- _Assist with employee training, new employee orientation and employee coaching for all Food Safety & HACCP and quality requirements_
- _Conduct food safety and quality inspections as required_

  • Oversee execution of food microbiology and environmental monitoring programs ensuring effective corrective actions are taken where required
- _Investigate and report on food safety investigations in collaboration with other QA team members_

  • Prepare and follow up on corrective action plans for third party audits
  • Ensure all test instruments are calibrated and in good working order
  • Review and monitor pest control program to ensure effectiveness and necessary actions are in place
  • Provide written policy/procedure on standard operating procedures and maintain documented processes for quality audits.
  • Document and follow up on all department processes in order to implement improvements
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as CAQS, LPS, Employee Safety and CBase

Qualifications/Experience:


  • Strong background in HACCP; Food Safety; Microbiology gained through experience in the food industry
  • Minimum of three (3) year of experience in food manufacturing is preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervising experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a science field, preferably food science, or college diploma with equivalent experience
- _Ability to multi task and maintain focus in a fast paced production environment_
- _Superior communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills_
- _A very good working knowledge of MS Office programs_
- _Ability to motivate and work well with hourly paid and salaried employees_
- _Ability to make informed decisions in a timely manner_
