Description
We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill a key position within our team as a Senior Estimator.This individual should have drive, motivation, experience, and professional skills to manage both people and the challenges that come with a diverse construction portfolio.
You will play a key role in developing estimates and professional proposals for our existing and prospective customers.The senior estimator will work closely with members of the senior management team and other internal business units as well as a variety of sub-contractors, to ensure unique project requirements are met, and that a quality bid is prepared and put forward for each project.
Estimating responsibilities include, preparing quotes for re roofing and new construction using our internal quote program. Additionally, liaising with 3rd party suppliers for outsourced services or products, when necessary.- Be a natural self starter, with ability to lead their own bids and take ownership of the estimating process

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Prepare estimates across a diverse construction portfolio
- Review and understand bid specifications and drawings
- Organize prebid meetings with other internal departments and subcontractors when necessary for complex proposals
- Manage estimates for more than one project at any given time
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Able to perform site visits when required
- Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Adapts easily to a fastpaced environment
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- High school diploma a must. College degree a plus
- 35 years' experience in the industrial, commercial and institutional flat roofing industry, in either supervision or work experience.
- 35 years construction (roofing) estimating experience a plus
- Knowledge of various flat roofing systems: e.g. TPO, PVC, BUR, SBS, EPDM etc.
- Ability to read and comprehend bid specifications and contract documents. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
- Knowledge of Architectural, Structural, Mechanical plans and details an asset
- Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information oneonone to clients, consultants, and other employees within the company as needed.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems in a creative manner. Must be a problem solver
- Ability to relate well to a multitude of personalities, attitudes and skill sets and can build constructive and effective relationships using diplomacy and tact. Help provide growth to crew members, developing a team of efficient and safe practicing workers through experience and ongoing training
- Must be a selfmotivated person with the ability to work at fast paced professional level.
- Valid BC driver's license with clean abstract
- TQ or Red Seal an asset
- Competent skills in sales
- Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Salary:
$45,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
