SUMMARY
The Planner will be responsible for integrating the functions of Operations Planning, Purchasing and Production Control to generate the site production plan and develop and execute the production control strategy to meet the business plan.
Scope of responsibility includes scheduling shop production, integration of incoming supply from other UTAS Landing Gear locations, incoming supply from external suppliers, managing work order, monitoring and reporting shortages, processing work orders, developing burn down plans, and support forecasting and managing sales latest estimates.
This position is an Onsite role
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and participate in the weekly scheduling meeting, by production line or program, based on standard policies and procedures
- Develop and validate daily Operations build and mitigation plan(s) and redirect and / or reestablish priorities, as required, in support of the Master Schedule
- Release and manage Operations work orders to support Operations start dates as well as validating that all parts were allocated correctly to the given work orders
- Ensure work orders are corrected in a timely manner each week to minimize aging work orders
- Ensure kitting of material supports the daily build plan and process adhered to.
- Prioritize and sequence parts on hold back into Operations production line based on customer priority
- Participate in Gemba walks for other production lines to ensure familiarity in order to support and backfill Production Control needs as required
- Facilitate "Andon" resolution and provide direction for quick response / quick resolution resulting in mínimal disruption
- Facilitate expedited material of critical part shortages to released work orders
- Liaison between Production Control at other UTAS LS sites and Stockroom / Warehouse to communicate incoming part supply and ensure accuracy of stock transfers
- Liaison to Shipping to ensure understanding of daily ship schedules
- Determine feasibility of Customer change request, as required
- Interface with Program Management to stay abreast of Customer priorities and ensure Operations visual boards reflect priorities
- Liaison between Operations Manager, Leads, Quality Supervisor, Procurement and Master Scheduling Manager
- Coordinate with Spares team, weekly, to adjust Spares allocations in SAP
- SAP data cleanup is managed on a weekly basis to include work order alignment to current month and alignment of tail numbers, as applicable, if misaligned
- Conduct On-Time Delivery root cause analysis and corrective action meetings with Operations, Quality, Program Management, and Procurement to support latest sales estimate gap analysis
- Provide root cause corrective action where metrics do not meet target for OTD, Earned Hours, OD burn down or any other metrics as required
- Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the EHS policy and management system, the importance of conforming to EHS policies and procedures, and consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree and 2 years of relevant experience. In absence of a degree 6 years of relevant experience is required.
- Ability to conduct indepth analysis resulting in development and execution of action plans for improvement
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills with a teamorientation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- APICs Certification is Preferred
- Previous ERP experience (i.e. JD Edwards, Impressa, SAP) would be considered an asset
