Hybrid Work Structure:


This position supports our regional locations in Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Red Deer, and Grande Prairie. Occasional travel will be required, with mileage and travel expenses covered. Initially, you will work in-office 4-5 days a week for the first 6 months. After this initial period, the role will transition to a hybrid model, with 2 days per week in-office and 3 days remote.

Essential Functions

  • Implement, monitor and enforce security best practices within the IT environment including security and compliance features, conditional access, data loss prevention and retention policies.
  • Coordinate IT team and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize Identity and Access Management needs and requirements that meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical support to endusers ensuring a seamless digital experience through hardware, software, and connectivity troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Stay up to date with current and latest Microsoft 365 features, updates, and security best practices, as well as technologies emerging in the industry.
  • Make recommendations for adopting new technologies and functionality that can benefit the organization.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks, functions and duties as required.

What You'll Need

  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree including major course work in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 1+ year(s) of experience in Information Technology or related field.


  • Microsoft expertise

  • Proficiency in Microsoft's suite of products and services, including Windows Server, Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and related tools.


  • Technical proficiency

  • Strong technical skills encompassing system administration, network management, and database administration, specific to Microsoft environments.


  • Cybersecurity knowledge

  • Indepth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices to protect digital assets and data.


  • Cloud computing

  • Expertise in cloud computing, particularly Microsoft Azure, involving resource provisioning, management, and optimization.


  • Scripting and automation

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell for automation and streamlining routine tasks.
  • Problem Solving: Exceptional problemsolving abilities to troubleshoot complex technical issues and devise effective solutions.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills for collaborating with crossfunctional teams and conveying technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Microsoft and networking certifications (eg

Microsoft 365 Certified:
Modern Desktop Administrator Associate,

Microsoft Certified:
Azure Fundamentals, CCNA, CompTIA Network+) will be considered an asset.
