Job Duties:
- Responsible for managing landscaping projects.
- Survey and assess designated projects and job sites.
- Responsible for constructing and maintaining gardens.
- Plan jobs to ensure optimum job efficiency and effectiveness.
- Use and operate tools and equipment used in horticulture.
- Plant seeds and transplant seedlings.
- Tree, shrub, and plant examination and treatment.

- Spread topsoil and lay sod.
- Plant fertilization and watering.
- Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges.
- General lawn and garden maintenance.
- Operate power mowers, push mowers, tractors, snow blowers, electric clippers, running
- Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environment, shop and
- Assist with landscape constructions when needed.
- Complete daily paperwork tracking job time and material costs.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
- Comply with all company polices and regulations.
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations.
- Communicate with customers in polite and courteous manner.
Requirements:
- Completion of college, vocational, or technical training.
- Valid / current pesticide applicators license.
- Horticulturist Trade Certification or Lawn Gardner Trade Certification.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Plant knowledge and identification, and experience in plant care.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
- Speak, read, and write in English.
- Carry and use a smart phone or dataenabled device for communication and reporting.
- Physically fit with strong stamina.
- Basic measurements and calculation skills.
- Ability to follow safe working procedures.
- Excellent observation skills and a strong attention for details.
- Good analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Computer skills an asset.
Work Conditions:
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift.
- Ability to work in fastpaced environment.
- Excellent stamina is required.
- Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis.
- Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise and cold.
- Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work.
