Smythe LLP (Smythe) is looking for a team orientated and personable _Business Analyst_ to join the team to help advance the digital transformation objectives of the firm.


As a member of the Digital Business Services (DBS) team, you will work directly with our various stakeholders and the DBS team to create innovative solutions to support our teams and clients.

This role will contribute significantly to the implementation of key projects that will drive business value and improve the performance of the firm.

Overview


The primary responsibility of the Business Analyst is to ensure the detailed articulation of business requirements for software development projects - ensuring alignment between the firm's systems and the business objectives they support.

Successful performance in the role requires a keen eye for detail, creative problem solving, excellent collaboration skills and strong technical acumen to assess the viability of proposed solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Gather, document, and analyze business needs and requirements from stakeholders. Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and gaps in current processes/ systems.
  • Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of new systems and enhancements.
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the DBS team during the system development lifecycle to demonstrate system enhancements and ensure alignment to business outcomes.
  • Translate technical details into clear, concise documents for business users.
  • Provides systemrelated training and user support; prepares user documentation and communicates changes clearly and effectively.
  • Use data analysis tools and techniques to analyze system data, draw insights and develop recommendations based on the data.
  • Acts as an escalation path for support teams to address systems issues; acts as a backup to the quality assurance function to test and report issues with various systems.

Role Requirements

  • 35 years of relevant systems development experience in a business analyst or functional consultant role
  • 23 years working with Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service or similar CRM platform required.
  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology
  • Proven experience eliciting and documenting requirements.
  • Superior problemsolving skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with Lean software development or agile practices.
  • Accounting or professional services experience is an asset, but not required.
  • IIBA certification is an asset, but not required.
