Description:

As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and their families.

You will also provide clinical focused consultation with other programs or community resources and acts as a liaison to develop and promote preventative health programs in the community.

You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with applicable professional association or college.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Completion of one of the following programs: master's degree in Psychology; master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization), master's degree in marriage and family therapy including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy.

All applicants are to be registered with a regulating body.

May be required to work out of Red Deer Provincial building, Red Deer Regional Hospital, Michener Bend(Protective Safe House and Step Up Step Down), and eventually the new Center of Excellence.


Preferred Qualifications:

Five years post graduate experience working with families of children and youth with complex needs.
