Summary:
Better Living Health and Community Services is searching for a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as _Coordinator, Active Living Programs_.
This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the Senior Active Living Programs primarily at 1 Overland Drive and 5 Deauville Lane which includes developing, implementing and evaluating programs and also monitoring and assessing programs and clients/members throughout the day.
- Completion of a Degree or Diploma in related field of Health and Wellness, Gerontology or Social Services
- A minimum of 2 years or more years of working experience working with older adults
- Experience working with database systems and a strong working knowledge of MS Office
- Effective Communication Skills
- Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening within one month of employment
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and promote Active Living Programs to meet members' needs
- Evaluating the effectiveness of programs and making improvements as necessary
- Coordinating the use of facilities, equipment and supplies
- Coordinate daytoday activities to achieve the plan
- Organize and plan in the preparation and proofing of program guides
- Prepare and send weekly membership eblast
- Manage membership database to keep accurate records
- Responding to members/clients' inquiries and concerns
- Supervising and training staff, volunteers, and participants
- Maintain effective communication to work as a team with various departments internally and community organization externally
- Ensure proper financial management practices for the daily operation of the Active Living Centres
- Complete administrative duties including the production of reports, correspondence, and attendance records
- Travel between two Active Living Centres located at 1 Overland Dr. and 5 Deauville Ln.
- Work evening and weekend shifts as required
- Maintain knowledge, observe, and practice appropriate procedures in regard to Fire, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
