Job Summary:

The primary function of the Grocery/Produce Manager is to provide overall operational direction for the Grocery/Produce Department.

The Manager will be responsible for the development and meeting of annual objectives in budgeting, sales, inventory management, staff development and management and policy compliance for the Grocery Department.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for staff recruitment and dismissals, departmental training, task delegation, communicating job expectations, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and scheduling as per store policy and procedures and applicable laws.
  • Creates a positive environment amongst department employees; motivates staff to take responsibility and to make decisions based on experience; ensures all pertinent information is shared with staff in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Responsible for departmental financial analysis, annual sales and labour cost forecasting, sales targets, budgeting and inventory flow and management.
  • Maintains departmental profitability, keeping track of monthly sales and labour costs and adjustments
  • Ensure all Health and Safety protocols are followed and all grocery department equipment are functioning properly; notifies the Operations Team of equipment malfunction.
  • Ensures Organic Compliance and all other Quality standardsrelated store policies and procedures are followed diligently; communicates effectively with Quality and Product Standards Control Program Manager regarding all pertinent issues within the department
  • Attends managers' meetings, regularly confers with store management on a regular basis regarding the state of the department
  • Keyholding responsibilities, as required
- _Perform any other job-related and/or managerial tasks at the discretion of the Store Manager or General Manager_


Skills, Knowledge and Experience:


  • Relative management college level diploma
  • 24 years of relevant retail management experience in a grocery setting
  • 24 years of retail buying experience
  • Has the experience and ability to read and understand financial statements

$50,700.00 per year
