Job Summary:

Day-to-day, the Guest Experience Ambassador is an onsite role with no remote responsibilities.

This role is part of a team that provides hospitality services to Shopify employees and client ranging from, but not limited to conferencing solutions, concierge service, special events, boardroom bookings, city experiences, restaurant bookings, onsite food and beverage and a general feeling of making everyone feel welcome in Shopify spaces.

The role provides a unique blend of hands on service and concierge style service in the innovative atmosphere of a tech company

Now, if you were to come on board as our Guest Experience Ambassador at Shopify, we'd ask you to do the following for us:

  • Managing with guest/event check-in, porter services and other concierge roles for all guests
  • Receiving Shopify mail and shipments
  • Receiving event and merchandise deliveries and act as event manager/manager on duty on event days
  • Assisting with food service related duties during meal times and events
  • Ensure all refresh kitchens, snack areas and kitchenettes are well stocked, cleaned and maintained at all times
  • Helps train new foodservice team members
  • Supervises the closing of the assigned dining room; ensures side work and station setup is properly completed
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures and help evacuate guests to safety in the event of fire or other emergency
  • Assist with service, including occasional bussing and food service, while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • May be asked to operate equipment, including but not limited to fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • Work with staff of other departments to perform job duties and during special events or functions

About you:


  • Experience as a server or in a dining room setting is an asset
  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to make decisions
  • Interpersonal skills, facility with meeting people, teamwork, collaboration, leadership, adaptability, and excellent communication skills are required
  • Good personal grooming, confidence, integrity, ability to manage stress, dynamism, energy, autonomy, initiative, availability, flexibility, and orientation toward quality are required
  • Able to work in a fastpaced environment and readily acceptable to change work priorities at any time
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
