About Us:


Facilities Management (FM) is responsible for the planning, development, construction, operation, maintenance, and stewardship of all the buildings, infrastructure, sites, and services within Western's campus community.

FM works closely with campus partners to coordinate new construction and renovation projects as well as to complete maintenance, preventative maintenance, and service requests.

Our integrated Team provides excellence in creating and maintaining Western's facilities and in serving the community.


Responsibilities:


The Parking Operations Coordinator will ensure that a consistently high standard of parking control and services are delivered to University staff, faculty, students and visitors, and will serve as a contact for Parking Services for events, gates/lot management and enforcement.

The role will act as a key resource to ensure that communication and customer service needs are met at the highest level and is responsible for the management of relationships with internal and external clients.

The Parking Operations Coordinator will also develop and coach staff, and effectively manage resources to ensure that the University community is served effectively.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • Undergraduate degree (preferably in Businses Administration)
  • CIM preferred
  • Experience:
  • 3 years' experience related to parking services in an institutional setting, preferably in a university environment
  • 3 years' supervisory experience
  • 3 years' bylaw/security management experience preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems in the field and conduct first line maintenance on gates and other parking equipment as required
  • Advanced understanding of parking technologies, both software and infrastructure (including preventative maintenance, restoration, and repairs)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
  • Basic knowledge of law enforcement concepts, parking regulations and legislation
  • Strong customer service skills to effectively handle inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure financial processes comply with administrative controls, contracts and other relevant practices to prevent the mismanagement of resources
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University's events and activities
  • Ability to process detailed information with a high level of accuracy
  • A strong record of teamwork with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and webbased programs
  • Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people in a professional, respectful, and diplomatic manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach team members as well as support internal/external clients
  • Strong people management skills with and ability to provide ongoing training and development and performance management
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage activities both for self and others effectively
  • Strong project coordination skills with an ability to execute and manage events of various sizes, with familiarity with planning large scale events
  • Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations independently
  • Knowledge of safety regulations including the Occupational Health & Safety Act
