WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities, Security & Switchboard, the Security Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and program support to the Security team. This includes providing oversight to the third-party contract, providing expert knowledge and advice on security related matters including those related to staff and patient safety, physical environment, training, equipment, regulatory compliance, policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Law/security training (i.e., Police Foundations, Law Enforcement)

Minimum five (5) years recent experience in the health care maintenance/operations sector

Experience working in Security within a healthcare setting

WHO YOU ARE:

General knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ministry of Labour Regulations, CSA Standards, Ontario Building Code and Fire Code

Strong team building skills to achieve organizational goals; communicates with and motivates a team to achieve results

Strong facilitating and negotiation skills to resolve conflict.

Excellent organizational and time management skills required to adjust to and meet unpredictable deadlines or changing priorities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with medical/ administrative staff at various levels at PRHC, and for consulting with professionals

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Emergency first aid

Use of force theory

Familiarity with the regulations under the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and the Private Security and Investigative Services Act (PSISA)

Sensitivity training

Familiarity with Trespass to Property Act

Familiarity with the Mental Health Act

Familiarity with ISO 9001, CAN/CGSB 1331.1
