Job Summary


As part of the Benefit Realization Management function, Manager, Strategic Portfolio Modeling and Analysis is responsible for helping operationalize the strategic plan into strategic programs/projects that return specific value to the organization and its customers.

The role provides transparency and accountability on the delivery of program benefits and oversees progress of the strategic programs/projects across all phases of the Benefits Realization Management Framework lifecycle.


The incumbent will be responsible for creating, maintaining and communicating the overall strategic roadmap and benefit realization schedule for the organization and reporting and communicating out progress to all stakeholders.

To achieve this mandate, the incumbent must form strong relationships within the organization:

working closely with the Corporate Planning team to define goals for the annual strategic plan, with finance and other analytics teams to model, monitor and track benefit and performance measures, with Change Management to provide input for change management plans that target any behavioral changes needed to realize benefits and with the entire Strategy Realization group for transparent, accountable and performance-based reporting.

In this role you will:

  • Help operationalize the annual strategic plan to realize specific business value outcomes from established annual strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain the organization's strategic roadmap and benefit realization schedule, ensuring it accurately reflects the current status and future plans for each activity in the strategic plan.
  • Work across programs and functional areas to coordinate, prioritize and sequence activities and to establish and measure realized benefits throughout the organization.
  • Continuously monitor project progress and conduct organizationallevel analysis and reporting on benefits realization status and outcomes. This includes linking benefits to the underlying project business cases and aligning with the organization's corporate performance metrics.
  • Rollup all strategic value realization efforts and help coordinate for maximum benefit and effectiveness.
  • Provide timely, accurate and high value reports and communication to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support business value audits to ensure benefit realization policies and processes are followed.
  • Aggregate all risks and issues, escalations and dependencies related to strategic plan benefits for resolution.
  • Support the continuous prioritization and balance of strategic activities based on organizational goals, resource constraints, and other factors that may impact benefits realization.
  • Proactively assess the impact of changes in project scope, resource availability, and other factors on the benefits realization schedule and roadmap, and adjusts as necessary.
  • Work closely with program and project teams and benefits realization analysts to model and establish benefit measures and ensure they are a driving focus for program delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Product Delivery Group, ANS Technology, Finance, Operations, Workforce Planning, Change Management, Corporate Performance and FIR management teams to ensure alignment and collaborative decisionmaking is foundational in all benefits related activities.

What you bring:

  • University degree in an area related to corporate planning, business administration, management or analytics (e.g., Commerce, Business/Public Administration, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 8+ years' of experience in a strategic planning, project management or business analyst role.
  • 5+ years' in a leadership role, with experience managing projects or leading through others.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting or participating in business case analyses, quantitative and qualitative research and studies, analyzing and synthesizing results and developing various means of communicating the process and meanings of outcomes.
  • Experience working with both structured and unstructured data to form conclusions and provide recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing high quality reports and other deliverables for all levels of the organization, including Board of Directors, Executive Management, Senior Leaders, and employees.
  • Knowledge of leading practices and concepts in business
