    Job Summary and Requirements

    This competition is for a full time, permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.

    The Land Management Branch is an effective steward of public land for the benefit of current and future generations of all Yukon people.

    This position is an integral part of the Land Management Branch management team within the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources. This position is responsible for managing the Branch's GIS, finance, policy, records management, and First Nations consultation and implementation roles. The position also often takes the lead on behalf of the Branch in synthesizing information and coordinating resources to support other branches and department staff, other government departments, First Nations, and other stakeholders and the public. The position works collaboratively with First Nations to support policy and program work and provides guidance on land management issues with environmental, economic and social impacts for municipal, federal, First Nations and territorial governments.

    Essential Qualifications
    Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet each of the following qualifications. Please note, selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

    • Degree in Business or Public Administration, Environmental or Earth Sciences, or related field
    • Experience managing financial and human resources, including developing staff, leading teams with diverse skills, mentoring and performance management
    • Experience consulting and working with representatives of industry stakeholders, environmental groups, councils, First Nations and other governments
    • Experience leading the development of legislation, regulations and policies essential

    Candidates who have related training/coursework combined with extensive experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will equally be considered.
