Position Title:
Security Guard

Location:
Rocky Point CFAD (DND Site)

Position Status:
Union (PSAC)

Reports to:
Shift Supervisor

Hours of Work:
Various shifts (evenings and overnights)

Wage:
$17.65/hr (includes 2.5% RRSP Cash) _plus an additional $15 per shift travel allowance_

Responsibilities:

Provide access control, ID checks and regular security foot patrols.
Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures.
Communicate problems or concerns to the site supervisor.
Possess excellent multitasking, problem solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.
Have knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
Use a cell phone and write incident reports as needed.
Perform all duties with high safety standards.

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience

Must be have or be able to obtain a Government of Canada level II (Secret) security clearance
Must be living in Canada for more than 10 years
Must be a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen
Must be physically fit and able to walk patrols.
Must be able to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
Must be fluent in the English language written, verbal and reading skills.
Must have a positive attitude with a professional demeanour, and strong interpersonal skills.
Have excellent attention to detail and incident report writing skills.
Have excellent problem solving skills with an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.
Have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
Have a demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public.
