The Opportunity

What You'll Do

Perform monthend close accounting responsibilities related to inventory and cost of goods sold, including journal entries, inventory account reconciliations, cost allocations, variances, and reserve analysis
Analyze and report on inventory levels, gross margins, cost variances, E&O etc.
Ensure accuracy and reliability of general ledger/trial balance for the inventory and COGS accounts
Manage the process of minimizing inventory risk and E&O reserve requirements
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities in the month end close process
Work closely with crossfunctional teams, including manufacturing, supply chain, and accounting peers, to develop and maintain the inventory and cost accounting processes, procedures, and policies
Coordinate the annual physical inventory count and monitor the cycle count program
Oversee the design and execution of management reporting packages, including budget vs actual analysis
Assist with the annual financial audits
Maintain strong internal controls
Perform other projects as assigned

What You'll Need

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Minimum of 5 years of relevant cost accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong handson experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP desired

Ability to identify meaningful trends in financial data that impacts business and operations decisions
Proven ability to produce accurate work as a result of attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with nonfinancial stakeholders of all levels
Demonstrates flexibility, positive, "can do" attitude
Team player who will step in to help wherever needed
Enthusiasm and initiative to identify process improvements and take on additional tasks
