The OpportunityWhat You'll Do
- Perform monthend close accounting responsibilities related to inventory and cost of goods sold, including journal entries, inventory account reconciliations, cost allocations, variances, and reserve analysis
- Analyze and report on inventory levels, gross margins, cost variances, E&O etc.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of general ledger/trial balance for the inventory and COGS accounts
- Manage the process of minimizing inventory risk and E&O reserve requirements
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities in the month end close process
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams, including manufacturing, supply chain, and accounting peers, to develop and maintain the inventory and cost accounting processes, procedures, and policies
- Coordinate the annual physical inventory count and monitor the cycle count program
- Oversee the design and execution of management reporting packages, including budget vs actual analysis
- Assist with the annual financial audits
- Maintain strong internal controls
- Perform other projects as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant cost accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong handson experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP desired
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to identify potential problems and suggest resolutions
- Ability to identify meaningful trends in financial data that impacts business and operations decisions
- Proven ability to produce accurate work as a result of attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with nonfinancial stakeholders of all levels
- Demonstrates flexibility, positive, "can do" attitude
- Team player who will step in to help wherever needed
- Enthusiasm and initiative to identify process improvements and take on additional tasks
