BASIC FUNCTION:
To take a leading role in preparations for, assembly and testing of ATLAS ITk Silicon Strip detector modules, and assembling them onto their carbon fibre support structures in Vancouver.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Refine methods for strip module assembly and testing
- Refine methods for testing modules on their support structures ('petals')
- Develop quality control tools for the above
- Disseminate results as articles in peer reviewed scientific journals and at national and international conferences and workshops
- Provide guidance to undergraduate and graduate students
- Attend
TRIUMF ATLAS group meetings - Carry out ATLAS physics analysis
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Extensive knowledge of particle physics, detector physics, statistics, general programming and computing, good communication skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Recent PhD (received within 5 years) in experimental particle physics, with experience in radiation detector hardware and scientific computing.
