WHAT YOU'LL DO
As the Food Service Director you will oversee multiple units across the University of Manitoba campus. You are a senior leader, focused on managing and developing your team to deliver world class services.

Responsibilities:

Be seen as a senior leader for all operations
Lead, mentor, engage and develop teams to maximize their contributions, including recruiting, assessing, training, coaching, and managing performance.
Coach employees by creating a shared understanding of what needs to be achieved and how to execute. Reward and recognize employees.
Accountable and responsible for maintaining a culture focused on safety in everything we do, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees.
Develop operational component forecasts; monitor expenses and reports all variances
Build revenue and manage budget, including cost controls with regard to food, beverage, and labor.
Accountable for rollout of Operational Programs, ensuring Scope of Work (SOW) is followed, and gaps reported to District Manager
Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationship.
Identify client needs and effectively communicate operational progress.
Adopt Aramark processes and systems.
Build and develop supervisory staff to become future leaders
Deliver sustainability goals as they pertain to food services
Comply with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree level education highly preferred in an area of Food Service, Hospitality, Facilities, or Business Management.
Preference to meaningful experience including restaurant, contract services, retail and catering
Strong analytical, project planning skills
Proven ability with financial literacy skills re: labour cost, inventory control, and in analyzing financial statements, operating reports, budget variance reports and other financial statements
Excellent knowledge of regulatory issues such as WHMIS, OH&S, and infection control
Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, colleagues and staff, both verbal and written.
Ability to build and establish internal and external relationship at all levels of the organization including senior levels of management
Positive attitude and genuine customer focus orientation
In addition, incumbent must be flexible and adapt easily to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment. Must be willing and capable of working in fast paced environment.
