PROFILE


Gowling WLG is looking for a Copywriter to join our global Marketing & Business Development team for a 12-month contract.

This role can be based out of any of our Canadian offices (Vancouver, Calgary, Hamilton, Waterloo, Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal) or in Birmingham, United Kingdom.


We are in the process of redeveloping our website to enable us to deliver a better user experience and better represent our offices around the world.

We are looking for an experienced copywriter to audit, review and where necessary rewrite our web site content to better reflect our brand and create consistency.


The individual will need to be able to work well within the challenges of a multi-national, partner-led organization and deliver high quality; search optimised marketing and sales content.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Writing and editing clear and compelling marketing and sales copy for the website, keeping within brand guidelines.
  • Auditing existing content, including conducting an SEO analysis to identify gaps, performance issues and optimisation opportunities.
  • Creating and managing a detailed work plan, including timelines for delivery and a list of required stakeholder inputs and approvals.
  • Consulting various stakeholders, including senior firm leaders and department heads, to understand and manage their content objectives.
  • Liaising with translation teams with respect to content required in multiple languages.
  • Collaborating with global Business Development teams, from concept development to delivery of final product.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to navigate a large multinational organization and collaborate effectively with stakeholders spanning a range of departments globally, including senior executives.
  • Excellent copywriting, editing, research and proofreading skills, with proven experience writing effective, benefitsdriven sales copy in a B2B environment.
  • Solid understanding of SEO principles, tactics and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with the professional services industry, coupled with a general business aptitude, would be considered a strong asset. Experience of working in partnershipled organizations would be ideal.
  • Experience working with style guides.
  • Experience with content management systems, particularly Sitecore.
