Position Summary
Our Technical Specialists plays a key role in our business by supporting our customers with Tekla Structures.
You will work collaboratively with the sales team to identify our customer needs, answer questions and demonstrate the functionality of these technologies.
As a specialist, you are required to actively participate in learning and development to stay on top of industry and technology changes.
In this role, you will...- Demonstrate Tekla Structures software for steel fabricators and manufacturers.
- Engage customers during the discovery stage and assist Account Managers during the sales lifecycle.
- Act as a guide and provide technical assistance to customers during the software evaluation period
- Provide technical support and advice to clients on current and new work methods
- Listen and pass on customer needs to the development team
- Train new and existing customers
- Regularly follow up with clients to offer unparalleled and personalized service
- Occasionally attend trade shows and other events
- Lookout for the latest technology to help customers exceed their expectations
- Have a strong background knowledge on the steel industry with experience on fabrication and building information modeling (BIM)
- Intermediate or advanced hands on experience with BIM software such as Tekla Structures, Tekla Powerfab (formerly Fabsuite), Revit, SDS/2 or Advance Steel
- Motivated to proactively assist customers to help maximize the best possible result/solution
- Motivated to learn new technologies in order to present them as solutions for customer requirements
- Entrepreneurial attitude and eager to be a part of a growing and profitable technology business
- Comfortable recommending, demonstrating and selling a solution to a client based on demonstrated need
- Comfortable delivering training in a classroom and online environment
- Postsecondary education or experience in Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction, Steel Fabrication, Concrete Fabrication or a related field
- Able to work remotely (i.e. work from home)
- Bilingual (FR / EN)
- Has work history related to Steel Fabrication or related industry
- Experience in using Steel Fabrication Solutions e.g. FabTrol, StruMIS or related MRP software
