Description

The
VP Finance has primary responsibility for the management, planning and control of all financial and administrative activities of the company.

This person is a problem-solver who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves but also will make strategic decisions based upon accurate and timely analysis.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assume a strategic role in the overall management of the accounting and financial resources of the company
  • Direct oversight of the accounting & finance department, including hiring, mentoring, and providing training to administrative and accounting staff
  • Provide recommendations to enhance financial performance
  • Cash flow management and reporting to meet the organizational needs
  • Provide Management team with timely and accurate month end financial reporting, including fully adjusted and consolidated monthly financial statements, variance analysis and monitoring of key metrics
  • Assess, maintain, and monitor effective internal controls
  • Consistently communicate and update the CEO with all financial affairs
  • Periodically prepare financial information packages including but not limited to financial statements comparing actual to budget, fiscal forecasts, and related commentary of financial affairs.
  • Prepare, execute, maintain, and train Management teams within the organization on the use of budgets
  • Make certain that accurate and timely payroll processes are maintained
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with the Management team to proactively recognize their needs and provide a full range of business solutions
  • Maintain accurate inventory management including physical count procedures, costing, and gross margin analysis
  • Remain compliant with all Government bodies and reporting requirements including, GST, payroll deductions, crossborder shipping, transfer pricing, etc.
  • Grow and cultivate relationships with external partners such as accountants, legal, banking and insurance.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a corporate finance management/director role
  • Completed CA or CPA designation
  • Proficiency with SAGE accounting software, MS Office, and various technology platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and resultsorientation.
  • Track record of building, leading, and developing strong teams.
  • Thrives in a fastpaced, entrepreneurial environment.

Salary:
$150,000.00-$200,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Aurora, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
