Housekeeping Inspector

Department:

Scope:

The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for inspecting designated guest rooms ensuring they have been properly cleaned and stocked for guest arrivals.

Primary Responsibilities:

Thoroughly inspect guest rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms and public areas for cleanliness and maintenance issues.
Records inspection results and changes the status of rooms that are ready after rooms have passed inspection.
Ensures proper use of inventory and supplies.
Reports any missing, damaged or maintenance issues in rooms immediately.
Resolves guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
Communicates any guest issues and feedback to the management team to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
Coordinates, prioritizes and assigns responsibilities to Housekeeping staff in the absence of the manager.
Complies with and ensures compliance with security procedures.
Assists in training Housekeeping staff as needed.
Assists with housekeeping and other duties as needed.
Knows and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management

Programs.

Works extra shifts and hours as required.
Assists in other departments as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Health and Safety

Because safety is a management responsibility, department managers are held directly accountable for safe work practices and control of physical hazards in their areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Detect and eliminate, or report for correction, all physical hazards and unsafe conditions immediately by completing a safety work order. Perform random checks on a monthly basis and report deficiencies to the appropriate personnel.
