Description

As a member of the Entrepreneurship Team, Business Development Officers (BDOs) work directly with clients to create end-to-end financial solutions, build comprehensive approaches to financial growth, manage cash flow, increase efficiency, and mitigate portfolio risk.


As a Business Development Officer (BDO), you are a seasoned professional responsible for meeting clients' needs, driving business growth, and leveraging partnerships to deliver a wide range of Capital solutions.

BDOs manage and grow portfolios by proactively developing new business opportunities and meeting clients' financing needs.


As an integral member of the team, you'll deliver flexible business solutions, dedicated business expertise, and timely business advice to help clients realize their entrepreneurial goals.

You will foster internal working relationships towards team collaboration to provide financing to Indigenous individuals, organizations and communities.


Responsibilities

  • Interacts with clients in a professional and friendly manner;
  • Provides Organizational and Program information to enquiring clients prior to referring to other services;
  • Responds to business inquiries from new and existing clients including referrals from internal and external sources;
  • Responds to client concerns by taking appropriate action to reconcile concerns/issues in a timely and professional manner;
  • Always maintains client confidentiality
  • Establish clientcentred communication and foster professional relationships with clients.
  • Monitor and manage relationships by understanding our client's goals, purpose, and philosophy through an Indigenous lens.
  • Discover individualized business solutions in a clientaspartner lending model.
  • Champion collaborative working relationships with all teams for mutual benefit.

Qualifications
-
Education - a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or relevant degree. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Minimum of five (5) years experience in commercial or business banking.

Recent and significant experience in a relevant area can also be considered

  • Interpersonal Skills demonstrated through diversity of thought and solid communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk assessment frameworks and financial analysis concepts.
  • Knowledge of bank risks and profiles, especially in relation to credit risk, and business model analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial software and associated computer skills.
  • Experience analysing and discussing emerging risks, evolving risks, and credit quality performance metrics.
  • Clientcentred approach
  • Knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles, including valuation techniques and cash flow analysis—assessment of the credit quality of clients, generally in the $250K$5M range.
