Responsibilities:

Sets up, operates and repairs the machinery;
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials and orthographic drawings;
Takes inventory by checking stock to determine the amount available,

anticipated stock and placing orders;

Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points;
Setup mills and lathes by installing and adjusting threeand fourjaw chucks, tools

and attachments;

Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position;
Verifies setting by measuring positions, firstrun part and sample workpieces;
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving and cutting;
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations;
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements;
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions;
Documents actions by completing production and quality log.

Requirements/Skills:

A keen eye for detail

Analytical Skills reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints, models and other

technical specifications related to the job;

Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM;
Engineering skills, particularly mechanical engineering;
Problem solving to provide clients and employers with solutions for complex issues

and quickly establish those solutions;
