Job Overview:


Under the guidance and direction of the Electrical Design Supervisor, the Electrical Draftsperson is responsible for producing technical drawings, plans and diagrams for mobile mining machinery based on the specifications provided by the designers/design engineers and in accordance with relevant regulatory standards & sales request forms.

The Electrical Draftsperson will create detailed drawings that serve as the visual guide for manufacturing and is accountable to organize, maintain and update relevant documentation.

Additionally, the role involves working closely with various stakeholders, including engineers, operations, and vendors to determine changes required, future improvements, sourcing etc.


Key Job Responsibilities:


  • Creating detailed technical drawings, plans, and diagrams based on design specifications including 3D models of enclosure assemblies & installations, and harness and cable routes.
  • Translating rough sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions into accurate drawings including flattened production drawings with 2D to 3D association
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Working with operations to identify drawing issues and collaborating with design engineers to clarify design intent or resolve design issues.
  • Modifying and revising drawings as necessary based on feedback and changes in design requirements.
  • Creating bills of materials (BOM) and other documentation required for manufacturing or construction.
  • Maintaining accurate records & documentation and organizing drawings in a systematic manner and in accordance with ISO 9001.

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Proficiency in CAD software. SolidWorks & SolidWorks Electrical considered an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail to create accurate drawings.
  • Ability to review and identify potential design issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and product specifications.
