JOB DESCRIPTION
The Operations Supervisor for Exhibit Solutions Inc. will be responsible for overseeing the warehouse operations, as well as coordinating shipping with logistics suppliers.

Warehouse operations, includes supporting the pull & pack of exhibits.

Reporting to the General Manager, they will supervise, train and coach warehouse staff and work with managers to find new ways to make tasks more efficient.

They must ensure the warehouse is safe and secure for workers and ensure they are following health & safety protocols.

They are responsible for maintaining and overseeing warehouse supplies, inventory, equipment, and the company truck.


As required, they will also supervise installation and dismantle ("I&D") of exhibits at events and assist and support the crews as required.

As a key part of their job, they will also be responsible for hiring new I&D staff and scheduling our freelance installation labour.


THE RIGHT CANDIDATE


At Exhibit Solutions, you will need strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, as well as, excellent knowledge and experience with display fabrication to be successful.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise pull & pack of exhibit materials for client shows
  • Complete warehouse test setups and assist the fabrication team as needed
  • Collaborate with leadership and HR to identify, plan and source shortterm and longterm labour requirements for the warehouse.
  • Train staff on warehouse requirements/processes and monitor the quality of work.
  • Train staff on administrative requirements (timesheets, expense reports, etc.)
  • Responsible for client and Exhibit Solutions inventory (exhibit properties, graphics, rental furniture, AV, etc.).
  • Support Health & Safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Maintain the warehouse, ensuring it is clean, organised, and secure
  • Manage warehouse supplies and source new materials or equipment as required
  • Responsible for company truck and maintenance
  • Responsible for company forklifts and maintenance
  • Load and unload materials, schedule deliveries and pickups
Logistics

  • Work with logistics partners to get shipping quotes, shipping dates, book shipping
  • Coordinate logistics, including completing load diagrams, creating bills of lading, crate labels, manifests and commercial invoices for projects
  • Track and oversee all outbound and returning freight
Show Site Labour

  • Collaborate with leadership and HR to identify, plan and source shortterm and longterm labour requirements for site.
  • Build and maintain a network of Installation & Dismantle resources (freelance installers, supervisors, labour agencies etc.)
  • Available to work on projects that take place in the evenings and weekends.
  • Occasionally travel to shows across Canada or U.S. for site supervision.
  • Install and dismantle exhibits, including supervision as required.
Available to work 40 hours per week (8 hours a day) or as necessary to complete projects.


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • College Degree or equivalent an asset
  • 5+ years' experience in exhibits, displays or trade shows specifically in a supervisory role
  • Requires previous experience in an equivalent or similar role
  • Demonstrated experience managing crews
  • Handson technical skillset encompassing fabrication, carpentry, and/or display installations
  • Experience with Octanorm is preferred
  • Read and interpret CAD setup drawings
  • Operate a Forklift (certification is a plus)
  • Drive a company or rental truck for pickups and deliveries
  • Customer service oriented
  • Selfmotivated
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills
  • Ability to work and thrive in a collaborative, multitasked environment while efficiently managing their own time
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines, is organized and detail oriented
