DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
NOTE:
Personal Protective Equipment must be worn while performing the duties of an SPD Endoscopy Technician.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a recognized Central Service Techniques Course or CSAO course;
- Previous experience in a CS/SPD field including indepth knowledge of cleaning, inspecting, testing and processing of flexible scopes
- Demonstrated knowledge of infection control procedures;
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, be precise and proficient, retain what has been taught and be decisive;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision;
- Proven to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills;
- Proven to have excellent organizational, timemanagement and prioritization abilities;
- Proven ability to perform constant lifting, continuous pushing, unremitted pulling and steering of carts, walking/standing approximately 90% of the shift;
- Proven current knowledge of Meditech and inventory systems, preferred;
- Previous experience within a hospital setting preferred;
- Knowledge of medical terminology, an asset;
- Must have a satisfactory performance record;

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environment safety and participation in regular inservice in this area; and
- Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard;
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.
