General Description:


The Quality Assurance Technician - Premises and Production will report to both the Manager of QA and the Director of Operations, based on the nature of the task at hand and its alignment with respective scopes of responsibility.

This position includes assisting the Director of Operations in the day-to-day operations for Pharmaceutical manufacturing/production.

Additionally, this position is responsible for overseeing the premises and production operations of good manufacturing practices (GMP) ensuring timely and accurate completion of documentation, calibration, and cleaning practices in collaboration with the QA department.

*Attend applicable production meetings and assist in the confirmation of production plans according to committed schedules.

*Responsible for ensuring the identification, maintenance and staging of raw materials, components and packaging materials needed to start and complete production is efficient and effective.

*Help to ensure that all duties are performed in compliance with work instructions, SOP's and all other regulatory policies and guidelines.

*Help to identify problem areas and work collaboratively with other business areas to implement corrective/preventive actions or solutions to address problems.

*Assist with the maintenance of records, as required by work instructions and SOPs, relating to manufacturing activities.

*Coordinate and control the safe and efficient operation of the assigned work unit.

*Maintain adherence to company policies and safety standards including ensuring that manufacturing facilities, the warehouse and surrounding areas are organized and meet cleanliness and safety requirements.

*Routinely inspects the various documentation (maintenance, calibration, temperature, cleaning etc.) to ensure completion of routine and daily tasks.

*Assist in the completion and review of batch documentation (as needed) and ensure documentation of label issuance, packaging issuances, weight checks, reconciliation


Work experience and skill requirements:

*The role of Quality Assurance Technician - Premises and Operations can be stressful particularly during peak production periods and meeting critical customer requirements, therefore personnel must have strong multi-tasking abilities, be good team players and be able to work calmly under pressure and without constant supervision.

*Practical experience in the area of responsibility, general office management, warehouse or previous quality control experience is an advantage.


Educational requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in a science related to the work being carried out.


Other skills:

*Highly motivated, with good communication and interpersonal skills.

*Demonstrated ability to adapt readily to workplace changes.

*Basic computer skills and good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

*Sound problem-solving and analytical ability.
