Reporting to the Service Manager / General Manager, the Assistant Service Manager is responsible to provide leadership and direction utilizing our strategic planning and management systems to manage the Service Department effectively and efficiently.

As an integral part of a large Dealership network, each location is required to support and promote a consistent and high level of service to meet or exceed customer expectations.


Responsibilities

  • Supports the Service Manager with overall management and leadership for the Service Department including but not limited to employee motivation, training, and development.
  • Achieve Service Department profitability including monthly and annual budget objectives.
  • Ongoing review and improvement of technician productivity as well as overall department productivity and efficiency.
  • Schedule work hours to ensure efficient operation of the service department as per current operating hours.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring service department employees.
  • Take ownership of customer / vendor issues and follow problems through to resolution, ensuring issues and problems are resolved accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support the implementation, execution and monitoring of the Company's policies, procedures, and strategies.
  • Ensure the service department employee performance appraisals are reviewed and completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that best practices are implemented and utilized within the service department.
  • Ensure all OEM training is completed 100% for service employees in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all OEM Program requirements are met and completed by due dates.
  • Ensure compliance of all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company's Health and Safety Policy.
  • Promote and develop positive corporate culture both internally and externally.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education: College or University Diploma/Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years management and operations experience.
  • Previous automotive or transportation experience preferred.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Customer service experience coupled with a strong organizational and time management skillset. Proficiency with computers, including a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license; insurability with the Company's insurance carrier.

Minimum Pay Rate

CAD $75,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay Rate

CAD $90,000.00/Yr.
