The Transportation Specialist will perform operational and tactical network analysis for Purolator's air and ground, regional and national networks to support the Company's strategic priorities.

Through partnership with a cross functional group you will identify network opportunities, determine appropriate solutions, model alternatives with simulation tools, and ensure timely project execution.


Responsibilities:


  • Analyze data to support Network & Capacity Planning, perform predictive analytics, and find network opportunities for improvement.
  • Execute network optimization projects within National Transportation to drive effectiveness and efficiency that lead to cost savings in the network.
  • Initiate and develop tracking tools to measure accountability of project, results, and timely execution.
  • Design, develop, maintain and support analytical tools to automate Network & Capacity Planning by using fleet information from different sources such as Telematics, GIS, and SAP-TM.
  • Support Internal and External Customers with respect to finding, analyzing and measuring opportunities in the network, and provide critical business insights that are actionable.
  • Create customized reporting and dashboards for management and team.
  • Responsible for maintenance of database, forecast, planning and network model, keeping it up to date and error free; optimize to support cost savings initiatives for the group of companies.
  • Support the design, initiation and improvement of corporate information and technological systems.
  • Assess the network foot print to optimize the location, size and coverage model of Hubs, depots, retail centers, etc. to maximize service and minimize cost.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand the nature of the projects, expectations, deliverables, risks, progress and milestones.
  • Identify strategic and tactical opportunities and make recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications:


  • Data Analysis: Strong competency with Excel, Access, advanced spreadsheets, and Database software.
  • Project Management: Strong project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects. Ability to coordinate complex and multidimensional projects to ensure timely delivery.
  • Communication Skills: Above average communication skills and planning skills. Must be able to negotiate with senior managers when recommending new methods and procedures. Motivated, influential and resilient.
  • Exposure to business analytics in Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or transportation industries.
  • Experience with process improvement, facility layouts, information systems, work methods and performance standards, supply chain planning, and human resources planning.

Education/Experience:


  • Business Professional, or Supply Chain Designation, or Engineer with knowledge in transportation networks and Operational/Business Analytics.
