About the role
We are excited to offer the opportunity for you to join our dynamic Geospatial team as a Geospatial Technician. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to create high-resolution orthoimagery for our Machine Learning team's analysis. Additionally, you will oversee data quality, organization, and processing.

Collaborating closely with all production teams, you will ensure adherence to our data standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and best practices for Geospatial data management.

To be successful in this role as a Geospatial Technician, you should possess a solid foundation in geospatial data management, analysis, and processing, as well as a positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.

Proficiency in CAD and GIS software is crucial for navigating complex geospatial data and collaborating effectively with colleagues. An understanding of 3D data is essential for ensuring the highest quality of data collection and processing.

Excellent communication skills are vital for working with cross-functional teams and discussing project requirements.

Attention to detail and the ability to adhere to standardized processes will enable you to manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering quality results on time.


As a key member of the team, an ability to optimize processes and develop innovative solutions to meet project goals, while producing exceptional results, will drive your success as a Geospatial Technician at Niricson Software Inc.

Responsibilities

  • Create orthoimagery using Bentley's ContextCapture Editor
  • Ensure exceptional product quality while meeting production timelines
  • Collaborate with internal teams to aid in the development of equipment and software
  • Produce 3D photogrammetric models of structures using Bentley's Context-Capture software
  • Integrating datasets from our proprietary sensors

Required Qualifications

  • Degree/diploma in geography, computer science, resource management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, perseverance, and energy.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work independently and be a selfstarter, and able to effectively collaborate with internal and external teams
  • Proven creative problemsolving approach and strong analytical skills.
  • 2+ years of experience capturing, converting, creating, editing, and maintaining geospatial datasets in a CAD or GIS environment.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following experience:

  • Working with CAD software, particularly from Bentley.
  • Photogrammetry and/or LiDAR data processing.
  • Opensource GIS software, and other opensource tools
  • Automating workflows and editing geospatial tools using Python.
  • UAVbased infrastructure inspections, or experience working within a civil engineering environment.
